Ban diesel-powered four-wheeler vehicles by 2027, panel recommends government
Possibly by 2027, diesel-powered four-wheelers will be outlawed. For the purpose of reducing emissions, a group from the oil ministry has advised the Indian government to outlaw the use of four-wheeled diesel cars by the year 2027 and encourage the use of gas- and electric-powered vehicles instead in densely populated cities and filthy towns. “By 2030, no city buses should be added which are not electric...diesel buses for city transport should not be added from 2024 onwards," the panel said in a report posted on the oil ministry's website.
