MG Astor to get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard
The MG Astor is a mid-size SUV and will be launched in the upcoming festive season
MG Motors recently revealed that its new mid-size SUV, named Astor will come with segment-first Level-2 autonomous driving technology and a first in India built-in in-car AI assistant. MG Motors has also revealed that the Astor will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity as standard across the range. This means that even the base variant of the Astor will get a touchscreen system with Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration.
MG Astor ADAS features
MG Astor will be the first car in its segment to come with Level 2 autonomous driving technology. This means that the car will get a host of driver assistance features like Blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic headlamp control to name a few.
MG Astor AI Assistant
The Astor also features India’s first car with a built-in AI assistant. The AI assistant is a small unit mounted on top of the dashboard, with a small display. The AI assistant is capable of answering voice commands, change in-car controls, provide useful information from the web, and react to certain conversations using emojis. The Astor will come with 5G connectivity provided by Reliance Jio, along with connected car technology.
The Astor will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Nissan Kicks in the Indian market.
