Land Rover production paused due to chip shortage
Land Rover has paused the production of the Defender and Discovery Sport at its plant in Nitra, Slovakia. This decision was made due to the ongoing shortage of semiconductor chips in the global car industry. Semiconductor chips are important in manufacturing cars because they are needed for various functions. The shortage of semiconductor chips is due to Covid-19, which has resulted in the irregular supply. In India, Mahindra reported a shortage of semiconductor chips which delayed the launch of the upcoming XUV-700.
