Back in the day: 400th Ferrari Enzo auctioned

The 400th Ferrari Enzo was sold at an auction by Sotheby’s for €950,000 (£640,000), almost twice its actual price on June 28, 2005. The main motive behind the auction was to collect funds for the survivors of 2004 Tsunami. Pope Benedict XVI was presented with the amount by Michael Schumacher, former F1 driver. To commemorate the donation, a steering wheel was presented, which read ‘The Formula One World Champion’s steering wheel to His Holiness Benedict XVI, Christianity’s driver.’, along with the donation.
