10+ year old cars to be impounded and fined
The Delhi Government Transport Department recently revised the scrappage policies. A 10+ year diesel car or a 15+ year petrol car will be fined with Rs. 10,000 if found running on road. The authorities can impound such vehicles and scrap them. The apex court has also asked transport departments to publish a list of delisted vehicles and to notify their owners to get their vehicles scrapped.
