1.82 lakh Maruti Suzuki cars recalled over defective MGU

The models recalled include petrol Ciaz, S-Cross, Ertiga and XL-6

Maruti Suzuki has recalled certain models manufactured between 4 May 2018 to 27 October 2020 over a possibly defected Motor Generator Unit or MGU. The cars recalled include petrol variants of the Ciaz, S-Cross, XL-6 and Ertiga. The company will start replacing the defected MGU in the cars starting November 2021 free of cost, and till then has advised its customers to not go near water logged areas with their cars and avoid direct contact of water sprays on electrical components of the car. The owners of defected cars will be informed by Maruti Suzuki workshops.
